Dacon has completed two design-build projects for Romanow Container—the expansion of their Westwood, Massachusetts warehouse and construction of their new manufacturing facility in Littleton, Massachusetts. Romanow Container is a leading maker of packaging solutions, ranging from plain cardboard boxes to complete retail product packaging.
The 66,000 SF Westwood expansion entailed tying into the existing base building utilities and matching the existing building’s precast concrete panels to create a seamless look.
The building now features a 25-foot clear ceiling height, 40-foot by 40-foot bay spacing, an ordinary hazard sprinkler system, T-8 lighting and 11 new tailboard loading docks. The expansion has allowed Romanow to consolidate the operations of multiple locations under one roof, greatly reducing costs in a competitive marketplace.
The design-build of Romanow’s 108,000 SF manufacturing facility entailed extensive structural and shell upgrades. Dacon made the renovations necessary to accommodate process manufacturing equipment for corrugated and foam production. The facility also features a carpentry shop, office space and an ESFR sprinkler system.
