Dacon was selected by Sensata Technologies, Inc. (formerly Texas Instruments Sensors and Controls) to consolidate their corporate offices and laboratory facilities as part of a major corporate repositioning plan. Key to the project’s success was achieving balance between cost efficiencies and strong design elements to reinforce Sensata’s corporate identity. Under a design/build guaranteed maximum price agreement, Dacon constructed a contemporary 221,000 SF, three-story, masonry, brick and glass building in only 10 months – under budget and two months ahead of schedule. The building supports more than 46 separate research and development (R&D) laboratories. It also houses a three-story signature atrium that serves as access to a 200-seat auditorium. Other amenities include a full-service cafeteria, multiple conference rooms and support offices.
