Compassion, dignity and respect. Beth Israel Deaconess focuses on wholistic approaches to caring for their patients. In creating a new Orthopaedic Center of Excellence that combined orthopaedic and rehabilitation areas, the hospital desired easy access yet acoustical and visual privacy.
Dacon worked in two phases for this project. The first, a DPH-approved center, was completed in 4 months resulting in a $36,000 savings. The client then asked Dacon to handle a more complex issue – the renovation of the uroscopy area – which necessitated operating around adjacent surgical rooms. Using negative air allowed the staff to continue with surgery unabated. This resulted in an expedient renovation that came in 1.8% under budget.
