Claremont Companies, a privately-owned real estate investment and development firm, sought to create an office building overlooking Lake Nippenickett. Centered on a progressive culture that believes nature is intrinsic to employee productivity, Claremont sought a design reflecting modern amenities and a harmonious fit to a 142-acre office park.
To maximize views of the natural surroundings, Dacon used full-height glass and spandrel windows. Structural advantages included side plate steel columns to lighten on-site tonnage, variable refrigerant flow and high-efficiency HVAC systems to lessen environmental impact while allowing for infinite variability in temperature control. Wood, stone and greenery were used in design detailing to support an environment that encouraged greater well-being and improved productivity.
