Ingenuity and creativity keeps Affordable Interior Systems (AIS) moving. As 1 of the top 25 manufacturing firms in North America, AIS sought to centralize the company in 1 location to eliminate intraplant transportation costs, poor communication, long lead times and duplication of work. Key challenges were remaining operational while moving massive amounts of raw materials and finished product to the new location.
Dacon’s primary focus was identifying the greatest sources of utility and product fabrication inefficiencies. In conducting an analysis of current building conditions, they identified support systems necessary to accommodate manufacturing and distribution processes. Partnering with the designer Nelson Architects, this resulted in a layout targeting 25% in productivity gains. Estimated close to cost, $15,000 was returned to the client.
